halfsquaretriangles:

these mittens have a tragic past, which is that i knitted one and then realized that i wasn’t happy with its gauge or the position of the thumb gusset or the tip shaping or, really, anything other than the textured cuff and the stranded colourwork. so i unravelled it and reknit it and was happy enough with the result that i also made it a mate.

in the background is yarn for the next pair, which will also be very neutrally-coloured and very soothingly-patterned.
